Enter the World’s Greatest Open Water Swim

This was the Press Release that was in the West Australian on 22nd February 2007.

A limited number of places are still available for those wanting to take part in the 2007 swim to Rottnest Island.

President of the Rottnest Channel Swim Association, Shelley Hatton says all the entries have been processed and a number of duplicate entries have had to be disqualified according to the rules of the Association. This has now opened up places for those who want to participate in the swim which takes place on 17 February 2007.

The great annual challenge to swim to Rottnest Island begins in earnest with registrations opening today (1 November) for the race which gets underway at Cottesloe Beach on 17 February 2007.

Since the May Annual General Meeting the new Rottnest Channel Swim Association Committee has wasted no time in advancing planning for the 2007 event and tackling the big issues confronting the ongoing success of the State’s iconic open water swimming event that was last year enjoyed by a record 2,300 swimmers.
