Hi,

We are an Irish couple currently living in Melbourne and are both very keen to do the Solo 20k in 2012. We both recently swam the Bloody Big Swim here in Victoria http://www.thebloodybigswim.com and are keen to step it up a notch. We've been swimming / waterpolo for around 20 years each, but have never attempted something as dauting / exciting as this before. Are there really sharks?!

Obviously the logistical challenge of hiring 2 boats and associated paddlers is one thing that we would appreciate any assistance with, ie contacts of skippers / boat owners / volunteers :) etc.

We are also both planning on doing the 2012 BBS so that hopefully should qualify as the 10k timed swim for the event. Can anyone confirm this?

In regards to the compulsary briefing, how compulsary is compulsary??? Its 3 weeks before the event and Its quite a ways to travel for an hours briefing, not to mention the expense. Would it be possible to have the approriate material posted to us? How has this been dealt with in the past?
