Everyday Hero
Everyday Hero provides you with the opportunity to swim for a cause in the 2012 HBF Rottnest Channel Swim. It is an easy way for you to participate in the program and help raise much needed funds for charity. With Everyday Hero, all of the money you raise will go directly to the charity of your choice.
In 2010, the swim celebrated 20 years of more than 24,000 successful crossings with a great look through the history books and some interesting stories that took us down memory lane. It was also the year where fundraising took on a whole new role, with a record of over $50,000 raised for a plethora of charities. In 2011, the dedication of swimmers and the generosity of family and friends in supporting their crossing was astounding with over $100,000 raised.
The challenge is now on to make 2012 the best swim ever - both in terms of crossing the ocean safely and successfully, and in making the fundraising effort count even more than ever before. The Rottnest Channel Swim Association supports the following charities who volunteer their services to provide enormous support to swimmers and their support crew on event day including the on-water medical providers, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations), the on-water safety and compliance providers, the Fremantle Volunteer Sea Rescue Group and, the 1,500m icon vessel, the Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation. You too can help support these charities, or any cause that you may prefer, through your Everyday Hero page.
