Correct procedure for swim

Hi,

We are a first time team. I have gone through the handbook and don't remember specifics about this at the presentation.

What is the correct etiquette with regard to your support boat and paddler? Given that the skipper and paddler should set the course of the crossing, how far away should the boat be from the swimmer? Are the boats to the North or south of ALL swimmers? Our boat is longer than 10m and so needs to stay South of the swimming channel. Does the boat navigate into the channel to find the swimmer to allow the swimmer changeover and then navigate back out?

Quite confused...
